I’ve been researching different book editing services, but the more I look, the more confused I get. Prices range wildly, and every company claims to offer “professional” quality. How do authors know which editors are genuinely qualified and which ones are just overcharging? Is developmental editing always necessary, or can some writers get by with lighter edits? I’d love to hear from authors who’ve used editing services were the results actually worth the cost?
